About our Chapter
Membership in the Phoenix Chapter gives mothers and daughters unique opportunities to strengthen their bond while growing together and improving their communities. The NCL Six Year Core Experience consists of a variety of age-appropriate and meaningful programming for our mothers (Patronesses) and daughters (Ticktockers) in grades 7-12. Our Chapter offers valuable hands-on volunteer support of local philanthropies with a goal to provide meaningful learning and leadership opportunities
As a 100% volunteer organization, membership in our Chapter requires a commitment of time and service, and carries a financial responsibility. All Patronesses hold a Chapter job each year and actively participate as leaders, at least once during their six years, to ensure the operational success of the Chapter.
In addition, each Ticktocker grade level is organized by elected Ticktocker Officers and other leadership positions, while coached by Patronesses acting as Grade Level Advisors. The activities designated in the NCL Six Year Core Program are organized for Personal Development (life skills), Leadership Development (professional skills), Cultural Experiences (social skills), and Community Service (philanthropic awareness).
- Leadership Development: To enhance leadership skills through team building, problem solving, mentoring, and group dynamics.
- Cultural Experiences: To create an environment that nurtures a positive identity by recognizing and appreciating the value of differences in each other and the world.
- Community Service: To learn what philanthropic needs exist in our community and to help meet those needs whenever possible.
Graduating senior girls are recognized in their last year of NCL, Inc. with a special celebration of their six years as members of NCL, Inc. Each senior provides reflections on her years in NCL, Inc. and what impact her experiences have made on life and future goals.
Consistently, we are amazed at the young women who have been empowered by their experiences, leave dedicated to life-long philanthropy, and who have strengthened the bond they have with their mother as a result of their time in NCL, Inc. We are proud of our role in development of strong, empowered women and are excited to see them start their lives as independent, committed individuals.
